This family-owned SME is active in event catering and stands for hospitality, contemporary vision, sustainability, and exceptional quality. There is always a strive for a good balance in all areas, where every employee contributes their part. Currently, around 40 people are employed, supplemented by a large pool of extras who are deployed at the events. The company strongly responds to the wishes of the clients (mainly B2B). The designated Sales & Event Manager guides the process from the first meeting to the execution on the day of the event. Whether it's a small-scale meeting, private party, or large-scale event, everything is negotiable.
The company is based in Brussels and most events take place in and around Brussels. However, there is also an existing clientele and significant demand in Flanders. The ambition is high, and there is still a lot of growth potential, especially in the Flemish market.
Duties
You are part of the sales team, consisting of 5 people. You focus on the sales and organization of events. Customer management and follow-up of catering and event requests make up the most important part of your responsibilities. Generally, many requests come in spontaneously, but prospecting for new clients may be necessary to some extent. In an autonomous manner, you establish the right contacts with event organizers. You discuss the possibilities with the client and ensure that all arrangements regarding the event's progress are communicated to the executing teams. You remain the contact person before, during, and after the event and play a crucial role in the realization of each event.
Main Tasks
Commercial and Strategy
- prospecting - identification and approach of potential new clients
- networking - building and maintaining a network, attending networking events or industry-related fairs
- analyzing market trends and customer needs to adjust the offered services and products.
Customer Relations
- first point of contact for customers regarding incoming requests and follow-up on ongoing files, inquiries or complaints
- mapping out the wishes and needs of the customer, creating personalized proposals
- organizing interim pre-discussions or meetings with clients regarding the event
- contract management from A to Z
- maintaining contacts with customers
Coordination
- conducting preliminary site visits
- instructing and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth preparation and execution of events
- communication, logistical and technical preparation with external suppliers
- being present at crucial moments of the event, for example, at startup
Administration
- creating quotes
- preparing and following up on files, scripts, etc.
- follow-up on invoicing and aftersales
Profile
This versatile role requires a commercial and dynamical person who can fulfill this position. You possess excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities. Additionally, you can present experience within the catering and traiteur sector.
The working language in the company is French, but there is still significant growth potential in Flanders, which is why we are also looking for a Dutch-speaking candidate with a very fluent knowledge of French.
