Front Office Manager

Located in a central location in Antwerp, you can find this modern hotel. The full-service hotel is part of an international chain and underwent a complete renovation a few years ago. With around 300 rooms and a large selection of meeting spaces, this location has become a staple in the Antwerp cityscape. It is the ideal base for both locals and tourists, as well as corporate guests!

Duties

In the role of Front Office Manager, you have a prominent position in the company and are part of the management team. You will have a very varied range of responsibilities, where no two days are the same. You are often found "on the floor" to lead and support the team.

Team Management

  • lead, motivate, train, and evaluate the team (15 permanent members)
  • directly supervise and distribute responsibilities among the shift leaders
  • step in and actively work at the reception, lead by example
  • staff planning based on expected occupancy and events
  • personnel management in collaboration with the HR Manager
  • provide team meetings, evaluation, and performance discussions

Control & Quality

  • optimize procedures and working methods at the reception
  • implement and adhere to guidelines, SOPs, and agreements
  • conduct checks, ensuring that quality and service are always on point
  • guarantee guest satisfaction and follow up/resolve any complaints
  • draft budgets and prepare recurring reports, interpretation of figures
  • supervise availability, room prices, revenues and targeted efficiency ratios
  • direct reporting to and communication with the GM

Other:

  • communicate through various systems with guests and internal departments
  • handle administrative tasks such as processing reservations, invoicing, and payments
  • participate in the duty management system, 1 to 2 weekends per month

Profile

For this position, we are looking for an experienced Front Office leader who is ready for a new challenge. The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities:

  • a professional Bachelor's degree, preferably in a hospitality field
  • English and/or Dutch, any other language is a big plus
  • experience at the Front Office within the hotel industry
  • excellent people management skills
  • ensuring a positive and harmonious work atmosphere
  • hands-on, operationally present on the work floor and in contact with guests when necessary
  • you are flexible and willing to be present on weekends and evenings as occupancy requires
  • administratively and numerically skilled
  • good knowledge of software applications and PMS systems
